The Oats Series: The Basic Overnight Oats Template
Overnight oats could not be the most easy, customizable, and perfect breakfast, lunch, or even dinner for all (but especially for the meal-preppers).
All you really need is oats and milk but that would be pretty boring so add any fruit, veg, nut, nut butter, super seed, etc. as you are feeling!
This how I personally make my overnight oats but switch up the measurements as you see fit for yourself or don’t even measure at all!
- put 1/2 cup oats in a bowl or cup (preferable one with a top) with 2/3 cup of choice milk and 1 tbsp chia seeds
- shake or stir this up
- add any fruit, nut butter, or other add ins
- place in the fridge to sit overnight
- add more fruit, seeds, nuts, nut butter in the morning
Above is a picture of my first and favorite overnight oats recipe: apple cinnamon. It is so delicious with the cold apple crunch and best when topped with granola.
Overnight oats is great when you still want the oat fix, but it is a beautiful, sunny morning. And what I love the most is how many combinations of flavors there are for you to customize to your desires.
I will be posting many more recipes on my oats series featuring some amazing overnight oat creations!
